Lakers Gaming, the official NBA 2K League team of the Los Angeles Lakers, have selected Brian “Nacho” Traynor to be the franchise’s next head coach, it was announced today by Lakers Gaming General Manager Mathew Makovec.

Nacho joins Lakers Gaming with extensive professional gaming experience under his belt. The Cincinnati, Ohio native played in the NBA 2K League’s inaugural season in 2018 for Magic Gaming and then signed with T-Wolves Gaming the following offseason, helping the franchise win the championship in their first year of competition. Upon winning the 2019 title, Nacho made the move to Hornets Venom GT as the team’s marketing and team operations manager.

“We are thrilled to have Nacho lead Lakers Gaming this season,” said Makovec. “Nacho has a proven track record of success in the NBA 2K League and has a tremendous understanding of how the league operates. His knowledge of the NBA 2K community and the game itself will allow us to hit the ground running in the 2022 season.”
